Hi there once again eBayers!

 

Here’s a wonderful opportunity to add to your rare record collection with this Sun Record Company 10”, 78 RPM Single, by Legendary Artist Johnny Cash, with the Tennessee Two.  The songs are, Thanks a Lot & Luther Played the Boogie, released in February 1959.  The release code is SUN 316.

 

The record is in good condition, given its age.  There are some light scratches and some marks that would probably wipe off.  The record comes in a brown paper sleeve that is in fair condition.  Small spindle hole.

Enlarge the photographs for the best visual description of condition!  Where I’ve used the flash this shows detail.  Where I haven’t used the flash is more indicative of colour and gives different detail of the condition.

A friend of Auspickers has pointed out that some 78RPM, 10" singles have been "skimmed" or treated in some way to make them appear better.  This process may affect the audio quality.  Whether this is better or worse seems to be debatable, however, if they have been "skimmed" then they are not in original condition.

I am no expert on the whether this process has been undertaken on this record here.  I only sell them as I get them, so all sales are "as is".  I do not treat, amend or alter my items, short of a quick wipe with a soft cloth.  I do attempt to describe them to the best of my capability and I try and get the best possible photo I can - although records are particularly difficult to photo!  That's why there are photos with and without use of the flash.
