Up for bid is an extremely rare mono LP, "Planet Earth," by Sun Ra and His Solar Arkestra. See pictures for song list. This is an original press, released by Saturn Records (9956-11) in 1966. LP is VG+ to VG++, with a couple of light scuffs on either side. There are also a couple of small light scratches on either side, which causes several light pops during the play of LP. LP is very clean and retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. LP plays with light surface noise (some light intermittent crackle and several pops) with no skips. Etched matrix info reads 9956-11-A  -BP- / 9956-11-B  -BP-. This LP still sounds great - this is a really nice copy of this original LP! Jacket is VG+, with no seam splits. There are a couple of small areas on the bottom seam where the glossy top layer has chipped off, but these are surface layer abrasions and do not penetrate through the remainder of the seam (see pictures). All corners show light wear. There is ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. There is scuffing on the front and back of the jacket. Includes original interior sleeve, with a reprinted article from the National Observer from June 7, 1965 on the front and back of the sleeve. The colors on the front of the jacket are still bright, and the front and back of the jacket retain a nice gloss. Throughout the month of December I will be listing more extremely rare, hard to find titles in very nice shape - from the estate of a serious collector. An original copy of this scarce LP doesn't show up very often - don't miss out of this very hard to find gem!
