Strong V+ 78 RPM Jimmie Rodgers RARE! No “r” 1st PRESS Victor V-40054 Country


This is one of those records which was “recorded hot“ so after the first press run Victor remastered the record to tone down the bass on Side A. This was noted on the shellac with a small “r” being placed under a take number in subsequent issues.


This was due to the fact that the way the bass was recorded it very quickly created heavy blasting when played on an antique phonograph. This stellar example clearly saw very little playtime and is still a very enjoyable listen in its original recorded state.


A must have rarity for any true JR fans!
