Description
This is the original 1973 UK stereo issue, with the large Mad Hatter Charisma labels and the early A-1U B-3U matrices & 1-GA 1-RR stampers of the first presses.
String Driven Thing's third studio album recorded in mid-1973 at IBC & Advision Studios, London and released in October. The band had been formed in Glasgow 1967 as a folk trio, with Chris & Pauline Adams and John Mannion. They moved to London in 1972 and signed to the Charisma Label, bringing in violinist Grahame Smith & basist Colin Wilson, releasing their second album in 1972. By the time of the recording of their third album in 1973 they had added a drummer Billy Farley. This line-up had success touring in Europe & America until late 1974 when the Addam's quit, leaving Grahame Smith to continue recording two more albums, but the band finally split in 1975.
The E. J. Group Ltd matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing, but there is a bent corner on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen. The matrix nos. are; CAS-1070, A-1U stamper 1-GA, B-3U stamper 1-RR. This is one of early copies of the first pressing of the original UK stereo issue of this 1973 album!
