Description
What a GREAT band that made so many GREAT LPs via the collaborative song-writing talents of Donald Fagan and Walter Becker!!! And in this auction is their SECOND LP!! THIS IS 1 of 5 STEELY DAN WHITE LABEL PROMO LPs FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION UP FOR BIDS TO GO TO A NEW HOME! This LP followed their landmark “Can’t Buy A Thrill” LP that kept Steely Dan in the forefront of Rock & Roll music during the 1970s and beyond. In this auction is “COUNTDOWN TO ESCTASY”. This is ABC Records ABCX 779 released in 1973. This is the WHITE LABEL PROMO COPY of the LP. The label states that it is a “PROMOTIONAL COPY”. As you know promotional records were pressed in very limited quantities and only made available to special people in the industry and to the DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play. This makes them VERY sought after due to their rarity and limited quantities. This LP has 8 GREAT cuts: “Bodhisattva”, “Razor Boy”, “The Boston Rag”, “Your Gold Teeth”, “Show Biz Kids”, “My Old School”, “Pearl of the Quarter”, and “King of the World”. While “Bodhisttva” and “My Old School” received a lot of airplay, you know the WHOLE LP IS SIMPLY EXCELLENT! (In fact, what Steely Dan LP wasn’t simply excellent?) In terms of condition, the VINYL IS IN BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE COVER IS IN VERY STRONG VG+ (PRACTICALLY NEAR MINT) CONDITION with just some very light wear on the front cover. There is a small sticker at the top right corner on the rear cover that states “PROMOTIONAL RECORD FOR BROADCAST & REVIEW”. Who knows when another copy in this exceptionally nice condition will come along! So don’t pass up this opportunity to add this STEELY DAN GEM to YOUR vinyl collection!!! BE THE HIGH BIDDER ON ALL 5 OF MY STEELY DAN WHITE LABEL PROMO LPs AND COMBINE FOR REDUCED SHIPPING COST!! FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY GRADE the LPs and 45s I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding. And please check my other auctions for other LPs you may want to add to your collection. Be high bidder on several and combine shipping! Winning bidder must remit payment within 7 days of auction close by PayPal. Add $4.00 for shipping to a U.S. address via media mail with delivery confirmation. (Postage is more to Alaska and US islands.) All payments due within 7 days of auction close. NOTE: THIS IS A U.S.A. ONLY AUCTION.
