1971 rare and original first pressing of Steeleye Span album - Please to See the King CAS 1029.
Probably one of the best traditional English electric folk albums of the 1970's featuring Maddy Prior, Martin Carthy, Tim Hart, AshleyHutchings and Peter Knight. A glorious set of traditional folk ballads and tunes re-arranged with traditional and dramatic modern accompanyments. Unmatched before and since.
Disc and covers in excellent condition. Includes original sleeve and one page sleeve notes. The cover is made of lightly textured printed card, with the appearance of being hessian although not actually being so.
The disc is near mint, plays with little/no surface noise or clicks. Overall VG++ to Excellent.
This is an original 1971 CAS pressing (not the subsequent Mooncrest edition) with matrix CAS 1029 A-2U (stamps 1 and O) and CAS 1029 B-1U (stamps 2 and CA).
