Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" Sound On Film
This is an original US vinyl pressing on Sound On Film #18 from 1972. The subtitle is "What Is A Man" Five Views Of A Clockwork Orange. The disk contains a debate about the movie between John E Fitzgerald, Fred M Hechinger, Dr. Emanuel K Schwartz, and Patrick Snyder. The moderator is Joseph Gelmis. This was sent to radio stations in 1972, and is almost imposssible to find today. It is promotional only and was never sold in stores.
This edition includes 3 inserts. One is an eight page, full color folded magaiine titled "Orange Times" Vol 2 No. 001 from 1972. It has many pictures from the movie and text by John Fitzgerald. The articles are : Real Horrorshow, Well Don't Think About It Too Long, Best Film Of The Year, Encountering Stanley Kubrick (with a portrait of Stanley done by Christianne Kubrick), Malcolm McDowell Doesn't Hedge, and others. Another insert is the complete script for this dics. It's 9 pages with typing on both sides. The last insert is a subscription card and advertising layout for Sound On Films.
This is a very rare and collectable record from one of the most important films ever made. I sold a copy of this record three years ago for $450.00 and it didn't have the magazine. So, I am going to have to start the bidding at $300.00 for this copy. I know that's a lot, but it's worth it.
Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ / Record is M-
The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint. The cover is VG+ with no writing and no seam splits. There is very slight front cover wear and the top right corner has been bumped. This cover is a black textured cover with an orange/white slick pasted to it. It covers the whole front and wraps around to the back and covers 1/3 of the back. On the seam where it wraps around is a 5 inch cut in the slick, but not in the cover. It has been repaired. The labels are perfect with no spindle marks. The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve. Inside the cover is a thin cardboard sheet that seperates the inserts from the disk. The matrix numbers are : Side 1 : SOF #18 A and Side 2 : SOF #18 B. The "Orange Times" magazine is VG+. The 9 page script is mint. The subscription insert is mint.

I will package this record between two pieces of 1/2 inch cardboard (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again. Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! ) It will weigh 31 ounces ( 1 pound, 15 ounces ) when ready to ship. You can figure out your own postage costs for US priority or First Class Mail International for overseas. I will remove the record from the cover when I mail it. I will send it as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM.) I will combine shipping if you win more than one record. And I will let you know when I receive your payment and when I have mailed your record. This record is from a no smoking, no pets home. Insurance is recommended.
