Description
I will be selling many Bluegrass albums from my collection over the next few months, many of them from the Stanley Brothers.
To kick off my auctions I am selling my two rarest albums.
This is the first and rarest record in my collection. Bluegrass Gospel Favorites – Cabin Creek 203.
It was recorded on June 5, 1965 at Ken-Del Productions in Wilmington Delaware for Cabin Creek Records, Route 2, Box 9, Oxford , Pennsylvania.
The musicians were:
Carter Stanley – Guitar Ralph Stanley – Banjo Curley Lambert – Mandolin Jack Cooke – Guitar Sonny Miller – Fiddle
In addition to the rarity of the album, there are two autographs on the cover. When I had Ralph Stanley sign the cover I asked him to do something different. He signed the cover using his full name: Ralph Edmond Stanley, which is extremely rare, he never signed like this as far as I know except on this record.
Ralph signed it as follows: To Jack, Dr. Ralph Edmond Stanley
The second autograph is that of Jack Cooke and he signed it as follows: To Jack my buddy, Mayor Jack Cooke.
The cover and the record are in mint condition as you can see from a close examination of the pictures.
