Description

Both labels have 446 West 50-th St., N.Y.C. address; same address at the bottom of the back cover. The letters "RVG" are inscribed in the dead wax on both sides. I do not find the "ear" inscription. Deep groove. 4 tracks on Side A include Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Allen Eager, Brew Moore, tenor sax; Walter Bishop, piano; Gene Ramey, bass; Charlie Perry, drums from 1949. 1 track on Side A and 3 tracks on Side B include Sims, Cohn, tenor sax; Kai Winding, trombone; George Wallington, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Art Blakey, drums from 1952. These are exciting trac ks by the first generation of bop, modern jazz players.

Cover: VG++ 1" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Very light overall aging.

Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. The record has a very clean surface with 2 small, light, surface rub marks. These do not affect the sound. Played only a very few times with care. A few very light, short passages of light groove noise on Track 1, Side A. These are barely audible and may be result of the early pressing. Otherwise, no surface noise. Fine, collectable condition. Audibly checked.
