Description

This 45 rpm record is a Rare promo copy of the Stan Freberg comedy production, made with his original cast, of radio commercials for Butter-Nut Coffee, with music arranged by Billy May and comes in a generic, white sleeve.

Omaha! was created as a parody of Oklahoma! and created as an extended commercial for Butter-Nut Coffee, with aspects recut for radio play.

In 1958, Stan Freberg approached Butter-Nut Coffee with his idea for an extended radio commercial (the story behind it is in his autobiography, "It Only Hurts When I Laugh") and got one leading Los Angeles radio station to initially carry it.  It was a success and he re-recorded it for Capitol (Capitol EAP 1-1101), omitting the plugs for the coffee itself.
