Description

This is part of a big auction of mainly Specialty Records 7" 45's. Specialty recorded many great artists in the blues, R&B & gospel genres among others. All of those will be represented. There will also be a nice selection of rare bonus listings.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1957


Notes: White & yellow label first pressing. The first solo release by Sam Cooke, performed under an alias so as to not alienate his gospel fanbase. These tracks are undeniably in the soul genre that he would be referred to as King of. The vocals take center stage here over some nice nice piano work and doo-wop background.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of tiny surface scuffs. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with original gloss, & no tearing/stickers. This is a nice copy overall.


Sleeve Condition: VG, Original outer sleeve has some light wrinkles and a small pencil number on the back, but no tears or splits. Some wear to the top edge.
