Special Edition Autographed Raised on Radio Journey Album
For sale- a Special Edition Autographed Raised on Radio Journey Album as pictured. There is good news and there is bad news. Good news is the album is still sealed. The bad news is the album is still sealed. Over the years the heat has caused the plastic wrap to shrink which in turn is squeezing the album cover, causing it to warp. What I have no way of knowing, short of opening it up, is whether that has warped the album itself.
Apparently Journey recorded the album using Monster Cable in every conceivable application. In return Monster got these autographed promo albums which they gave out at the Consumer Electronics Show. Based on the album date, 1986, I was still working in merchandising/purchasing at good Monster Cable customer so I was able to snag one. If memory serves by then CD had arrived on the market and while I still had a turntable hooked up it fell into disuse and this album never got opened.
If I am reading the notes on the back correctly this does not contain a remastered album, so even if the album inside is warped you could swap it out for one that isn’t and have pretty much the same thing. Basically what you are buying here is the autographed album cover, so I guess you would have to be a big Journey fan to want to own this.
The cover should be in perfect condition never having been handled, but with the plastic squeezing it there are noticeable puckers. Whether those relax once the plastic is removed?? Here is what I will do. ON REQUEST I will remove and discard the outer plastic wrap. I will remove the album, put it on a turntable (that isn’t fully functional so there is no chance I will actually play it) and just spin it around to see if it is warped. Will also note the condition of the cover and get back to you with that info. If the record is warped or the cover remains deformed we can cancel the transaction. If I ship you the sealed album it’s yours to keep, no returns.

I should also note that ebay (in their infinite wisdom) required a UPC code to list this. I don't know if it's because it was a promo disk or what, but the UPC code is one digit short.
