Description

This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 200g pressing of Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s recording “Spain” on 4 200g 45 RPM records.  The 45 RPM set is a complete recording LSC-2230.  When I first bought this new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative.  More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner.  It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag. The recording is very spacious and dynamic.  Side 1 plays very quietly with only a few light ticks and 1 medium tick.  Side 2 plays very quietly and I only noticed about 1 second of some faint surface noise.  Side 3 plays very quietly throughout. Side 4 has a few light ticks at the beginning of the side and plays very quietly after that. There are no scratches or scuffs. I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The sound is naturally open and detailed. The jacket for the first two disks is an oversized jacket which holds both records.  The remaining two records are in plain white jackets with a sticker.  There are no seam splits.  Only side A of each LP is pressed.  Side B is blank. Unlike the 180g issue of this 45 set (and the 180g 33 release), this 200g set does not include the booklet.  Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
