Description

This is a 1957 US, mono pressing on the Prestige label. RVG PRLP-7079-A AB is in the side A run-out and the address on the labels, and on the back of the sleeve, are 50th ST., N.Y.C. If it weren't for a very  brief passage in which the needle does a few jumps in succession I'd be grading the record as being a solid VG player. There's a small dimple, that might be a pressing flaw, near the beginning of ST. Thomas that causes about five separate tics or pops over the span of fifteen seconds two of which cause a noticeable jump of the needle but doesn't cause the needle to repeat (it plays through.) The rest of the record has nothing as significant as this small passage, there's only some occasional light crackle, in some passages the record even sounds like a VG+ player. There's no overwhelming static, the music always comes through very clearly, and popping is pretty rare. Overall I'm grading the record as being in G condition, however excluding that brief passage I'd say the rest of the record is a solid VG. The sleeve is in VG condition, there's about a two and a half inch split on the top seam on the mouth end, wear here and there along the edges and spine,  and a small peeling of the lamination on the front in an area about the size of a penny near the mouth on the bottom right, otherwise there's no complete splits (pretty solid, nowhere near falling apart), and there's no water damage. Check pictures for condition.
