Description

Sonny Rollins classic 1957 Self-Titled LP/Record (sometimes called Volume 1).
This is the Original 1957 US Pressing.
The following dating indicators are present:
Blue Note (BLP 1542); Mono; Microgroove; Deep Groove; "RVG" is hand-etched, not by machine; Ear, or Plastylite "P" in the dead wax (as is often the case, not a full impression, but present and easy to discern); No "R" under the "E" in "Note"

LP: G/VG-; Sleeve: G+
Side 1 of the LP is Good. It has many non-feelable surface scuffs and marks and several small, scratches feelable with a fingernail. The first minute of the first track is badly scratched and skips a few times. After that, the side plays through fine but with surface noise and the odd "pop" etc.
Side 2 is VG–. It has some non-feelable surface scuffs and marks and some small, scratches feelable with a fingernail. The entire side plays through fine but with surface noise and the odd "pop" etc. No skips on my Turntable.
The Sleeve is Good+. The front and back covers are clean and bright for their age and just show shelf wear. But, all 3 seams are completely split and have been taped back together. Very minor pen on back cover.
