Description

Sonny Rollins (with Wynton Kelly, Doug Watkins, Philly Joe Jones) NEWK’S TIME Blue Note 4001, recorded 1958. Disc label has 47 West 63d Street address; Jacket has 43 West 61st Street.  Deep groove; ear in wax.  Mono. Oh, boy! Incredibly healthy specimen:  Disc plays excellently: M-. Couple of small spots as side B gets underway make that 2:00 segment NM-. Jacket front cover has a couple of 2” minor lamination wrinkles.  Apart from that, it’s as clean a copy as you could ever hope to see. Period Blue Note Inner sleeve as well.

Here’s the ninth of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
