Small Faces Ogden's Nut Gone Flake LP vinyl 1968 (IML 2001) RARE Gatefold x 5

You are bidding on one of the great albums of the 1960's and certainly one of the most iconic covers. This is a 12" vinyl LP of the The Small Faces' Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. The "Late Greats" Stevie Marriott and Ronnie Lane with Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones. The Beatles did "Pepper", the Stones did "Satanic Majesties" and the Small Faces did "Ogden's". 

The catalogue numbers on this album (see below) suggest that this is the 1975 edition, but as far as I can see, there is no mention of 1975 on the cover or the album itself. Also I've seen other versions of the 1975 label on eBay and the wording is different to this one. All a bit confusing, but no doubt the vinyl collectors looking in will know exactly which copy this is. 

This is from  my own personal collection. I would have bought it in the 1970's which probably suggests it is the 1975 version. It hasn’t been played for many years and I have no  means to play vinyl now. As far as I can  recall there are no issues or faults with the playing of this album. (full condition below). Label: NEMS IMMEDIATE (White Label with black writing)

Year: Released 1968 (see above - this could be 1975 edition). The white label says 1968. 1975 isn't mentioned.

Catalogue No: IML 2001

Additional  Matrix number information: (Side 1) IML 2001-A-1. Also in the same are is A1E. There is another small picture scratched into matrix area - difficult to tell what it is - it looks like a "lyre" (small harp type musical instrument) (Side 2) IML 2001-B-1. Another picture of the lyre scratched in, also A1B and also the initial "W". (I hope that helps the collectors)

Condition: VGC

Cover: For such a "delicate" cover it has held up very well over the years. There is a little wear around the edges, but not obtrusive. All five fold out parts are still intact. They are worn (I saw one on eBay saying theirs was hanging by a thread - this one is certainly not that bad. It isn't about to fall apart) Opening and closing it carefully will ensure it has many more years. Please see photos for cover.

Inner sleeve: This edition never had an inner sleeve. The album just sits inside the card. (I will remove the vinyl from the cover to post it - just to ensure it is protected)

Record: I did play this album quite a few times. As I say, I don't think there were any skips or jumps. I have checked it with a magnifying glass. Both sides look very clean. There are some light finger marks and there are some "hairline" marks on the surface. I can't play it unfortunately, to check it, but they don't look like the sort to cause skips, clicks and jumps.  

In all honesty, if you like your records to be in "mint" condition then this is not the one for you.  

However, compared with how others grade LP’s on eBay I would say this one, particularly bearing in mind its age, is VGC. So if you're looking for an affordable, respectable copy, with original iconic cover, then this could be the one!

Describing  the condition of items is very subjective. (one man’s treasure is another man’s junk etc). I will always try to be as honest as possible in describing the  items. I would rather be honest from theoutset, than end up with a  disappointed winning bidder. I buy  things on eBay as well and would expect the same honesty from others.
