Description

This is the original 1970 UK stereo press, with the rough orange CBS labels, the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices and A-1 A-1 stampers of the very first copies pressed.

The second album by Skin Alley, was recorded from June to October and released in December 1970. The band were gigging in the UK and playing festivals, but Columbia had not released their first album in the USA and the same happened for their second album. The band were also going through changes as Thomas Crimble left during the sessions to play with Hawkwind and was replaced by Nick Graham and drummer Giles Pope also left soon after its release. The album was featured by CBS on their promo albums the following year, but did not sell well and the band had moved onto Transatlantic Records by 1972.

  The Deepak matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some storage rubbing on the outer cover. The inner cover has some very light rubbing. The spine is intact, slightly worn and fully readable and the plain company inner is creased & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs & marks visible on each side, that do not affect play. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of only one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen, that plays great.   The matrix nos. are; S-64140, A-1 stamper A-1, B-1 stamper A-1. This is one of the very first few hundred copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!
