AllMusic Review by Judith Schlesinger : « Sir Roland Hanna and his fine trio playing compositions by, associated with, or written for John Lewis, the musical director of the Modern Jazz Quartet for all of its life. Lewis was admired for his distinctive bop playing and his creative involvement with one of the greatest groups in jazz history, but only one of his originals has become a standard: the immortal "Django," rendered here in an elegant arrangement that alternates between somber and swinging. "Waltz in Central Park" is charming, with some nice filigree from drummer Lewis Nash; the other Lewis compositions are urbane and pleasant, if not instantly memorable. These top-drawer players do swinging justice to Milt Jackson's "Bag's Groove," probably the most famous and recorded tune to come out of the MJQ, giving it a light, fresh treatment that spotlights Hanna's sophistication. In fact, the standouts on this CD are actually Hanna's pieces: the intriguing "Perugia," with its moody, shifting colors, and "The Clarion Bells of Zurich," a grand combination of pianistic "bells" and blues that acknowledges Lewis' explorations in the third stream movement. Overall, a genteel and refined sessions.

The CD is superb ; no visible marks (no scratches no scuffs) ; sound quality is superb ; the jewelcase and the inner booklet are like new. The jewelcase has been changed by myself if the original was damaged.

The CD has some has few little scratches or visible marks. These imperfections can generate small random clicks or surface noise but listening still very acceptable. The jewelcase and the inner booklet are cleans overall. They could show few wear signs like slight marks, scratches or folds but no slots or tears in any case.

Le CD présente plusieurs défauts qui gênent l’écoute comme des crépitements constants ou des clics répétitifs générés par des rayures plus prononcées. Le boîtier plastique et/ou le livret intérieur présentent plusieurs marques d’usure. Des fentes et/ou des déchirures plus ou moins importantes sont possibles.

The CD has several imperfections which disturb the listening : constant cracklings or repetitive clicks generated by scratches. The jewelcase and the inner booklet show more signs of wear on both sides. More or less important slots and tears are possible.

PAYMENT

Payment have to be done by the Buyer maximum 5 business days after the purchase (it means after receiving the Invoice – see the Delivery Policy). I only accept paypal payment for best security between the Seller and the Buyer. Except for France : payment can also be done by cheque or by bank wire transfer.

DELIVERY

Delivery cost depends on your location. 4$ indicated by Ebay is not possible from France to International. Please wait for my INVOICE before proceeding to the payment (veuillez impérativement attendre que je vous envoie la FACTURE avant de procéder au paiement). The Invoice will include item price + delivery cost. If you pay before receiving my Invoice I will ask you the delivery cost due and the shipping process will be delayed.

The following delivery costs will be applied for the year 2016. Of course I encourage you to consolidate your purchase with several items at the same time. In that case delivery costs per unit will decrease.

The Buyer will receive a tracking delevery number in order to check all the shipping process of the packing. Item availability : within 3 business days of received payment for France and within 7-10 business days of received payment for International.

PACKING

It’s possible to order a CD in a jewel case or in a plastic cover with adhesive flap. Please contact me before the payment and precise me your choice (jewel case or plastic cover).

In any case, the shipping pack will be done safety in order to protect the CD in best conditions. For better safety during the shipping, the CD is packed in a specific cardboard or in a Kraft pouch with plastic bubbles. It will depend on the quantity of CDs ordered by the Buyer.

CUSTOMS FEES & LOCAL CHARGES

All international Buyers are responsible for the cost of their respective country’s customs fees or any local charges which are not include in the item price and delivery cost.

RETURN

If the Buyer change his mind he may returns the Item. Within maximum 14 calendar days after the reception of the Item.  In that case, the Buyer has to contact the Seller by sending him an e-mail (via Ebay).

All refund requests beyond the legal period of 14 calendar days after delivery will be rejected and therefore will be not refunded (even partial). By delivery date means the date of the (first) presentation of the product by the carrier at delivery. This date is mentionned by the tracking delivery number.

The Item must be exactly packed as when it was delivered to the Buyer. As soon as the Seller will receive and control the Item, the Buyer will be refunded amount of purchase including delivery cost (if the control is positive).

The Buyer is responsible and pays for return delivery in that case. The refund will be made ??by Paypal (or by wire transfer for France) to the bank account which has been initially used for the payment of the Item by the Buyer. This refund will be made within a period of maximum 14 calendar days after the receiving confirmation sent by the Seller to the Buyer.

Any Item returned by a Buyer will not be refunded without having first obtained a return agreement from the Seller.
