Description

This is $74,000,000 Talent Bonanza, Reprise's Special Demonstration Record, July '62. Frank Sinatra, Dick Leibert, Neal Hefti, Les Baxter, The Hi-Los, Esquivel, Ethel Merman, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.

A rare record, promo only record that is briefly mentioned in online discographies.

Only one sale is recorded--of the disk in a plain jacket--no album cover--showing on Popsike in July, 2020 for $500, described as "Rare 1961 Demonstration LP featuring Sinatra, Neil Hefti." No sales are recorded anywhere of album in jacket.

The Sinatra family website has a picture here in the chrono listings for 1961.

This belonged at one time to Jack Schapps, who owned three music stores in shopping centers in suburban Chicago and was also the owner of Astra Records. One store was in the Randhurst Shopping Center. Schapps had worked for RCA records before going into retail. (A photocopy of an inscription to Schapps by Eydie Gorme on one of her albums is included with this sale, shown as the last photo here).
CONDITION
Disk: No audible surface noise at all when played. Probably played very little. My pictures still show the "rainbow effect" of virgin vinyl. So, MINT.

JACKET: Fragile as it was never intended to last. But still in near mint condition except for a bump (see photo) at the upper right corner, and what looks like a manufacturing anomaly in the laminate at left of front cover, also shown in a photo.

INNER SLEEVE: has a closed tear on one side from careless insertion of the record . . . the fit is tight and requires care.

Will be shipped by registered mail in a custom-made box.
