SIMPLE MINDS - NEW GOLD DREAM - WHITE LABEL PRESSING

Hi there and welcome to my auction for this possibly very rare white label pressing of the fantastic Simple Minds album; New Gold Dream which was originally made in 1982.

Well, anyway, I started getting into Simple Minds in the mid-1980's  so purchased this album from a second hand record shop in Edinburgh probably post '86. To be fair I was a bit miffed on finding that the inner label was blank on both sides but couldn't be bothered returning this 'faulty' record to the shop. Being somewhat older and wiser I now realise that this is indeed a rarity of either a test pressing or promo copy (although nowhere does 'promo' appear on the vinyl or sleeves). The run off strip has 'Bilbo Tape One' etched into it (he was the guy who mastered the album and info. on him can be found on the internet) plus the catalog no. :-

This record, to be fair, has been played an awful lot...well it's a great album...and does have a lot of marks on the surface. Apart from a couple of tracks, however, it does still play very well indeed with a surprising lack of noise.

The couple of tracks where there are problems are 'Someone, Somewhere In Summertime' and 'Colours Fly and Catherine Wheel' where the needle does jump a wee bit forward (no sticking in groove) and there's a couple of annoying scraping sounds. The amount of time, at start of both tracks, comes to no more than about 10-12 secs for each track.

In all, this record really does play very well indeed apart from the 2 tracks mentioned above. The sleeves, both inner and outer are in very good to excellent condition.

Anyway, grab this chance at picking up a rare copy of this fantastic album as it is sold without reserve so highest bidder wins.

Payment by PayPal and overseas buyers should ask about shipping fees before bidding.

Any questions, just ask.

GOOD LUCK!!!
