Simon & Garfunkel Japan Only 15 Singles Box
From my private collection, Simon & Garfunkel's very hard to find Japan-only box set, from 1982 on CBS/SONY; catalog number 80SP 601-15. The set contains 15 high quality 45 rpm 7" singles, each in a glossy sleeve imprinted with song lyrics. The records play with amazing depth and presence, and all are in super, M- condition visually. Comming with a 20 page booklet with Japanese lyrics, B&W photos and discographies; it's also in great shape like new. The box has some slight stains and a little damages from ages. And the original obi is lost, but this item comes with a finely crafted replica obi.
The first twelve singles in this set (all in mono) contain some of Simon and Garfunkel’s best songs and sound differently from stereo mixes: Namely, “The Sounds of Silence” (completely different mix from stereo vrision), “Homeward Bound” “I Am a Rock” (very different and much ballsier in mono), “A Hazy Shade of Winter” (dazzling in this single version which is even hotter sounding than the mono LP version), “Scarborough Fair”, “Mrs. Robinson”, “The Boxer” (lovely and much denser and darker than the stereo version) and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”(orchestra sound is stronger).
