Description
• The Wailers first tune featuring a young Bob Marley recorded for Clement Coxsone Dodd ( Studio 1 ) Simmer Down written about the ghettos of Kingston heating up with rude boy gangs fighting. Bob Marley already carrying a message aged 18 .it was recorded in 1963 and was No1 in Jamaica in feb 1964. Marley later fell out with Dodd over financial issues(Coxsone was not famous for his generosity) and later 'discovered by Chris Blackwell at Island records and the rest is history.
Johnny Moore from the Skatalies saw potential in Bob Marley and spoke to Clemment Dodd about bringing him in. The tracks are backed by the Legandary Studio 1 band The Skatalites who Johnie Moore played with.
This was released on the very collectable green vinyl as was some other Ska tracks at the time. Most are very rare and collectable.this is also a very important record in the history of Jamaican recording industry which I believe influenced the whole recording industry and how music for dancehalls would be made and played.

Vinyl is in G plus condition light crackle but nothing bad. There is is a little black mark inside the green vinyl that does not affect play.
2 good tunes but more a piece of history from the Jamaican recording industry.
This is the original first pressing. I believe it also came in yellow and blue coloured vinyl when it was first released
