Description

Here's a remarkable, unknown recording of "Sign of the Queen" that is radically different from the version released in 1967 by Noel Harrison. It's possible that it's a demo by the tune's songwriters Brewer & Shipley, but to my ears the vocals are much lusher than any those two ever recorded, more reminiscent of the Left Banke or some other baroque psych-pop outfit. The disc is in excellent condition. It has Almo/Irving labels, so I assume it was meant for publishing purposes.
