THE QUEERS  - Shout at The Queers - LP

I'm thinning out some of the duplicates from my vinyl collection...this one is a copy of Shout at The Queers by The Queers.  A limited edition of 666 copies. 

A real live album (but recorded in a studio) with fake audience applause from a Slayer concert between songs.  If you've ever seen The Queers live, then you KNOW they deliver...and this record is no exception (even if there wasn't really an arena full of metal fans).  Fast and furious, back-to-back-to-back classic Queers tracks.  "Kicked Out of the Webelos," "Blabbermouth," "This Place Sucks," "Tulu Is A Wimp" and tons more.  Also includes a couple of odes to fellow pop-punkers Screeching Weasel ("I Was A High School Psychopath" and "Ben Weasel"), plus a Ramones cover song ("Cretin Hop").

CONDITION:  I don't want to scare you away, because there's nothing "wrong" with this record;  it doesn't skip, stick or jump the needle.  I just don't want you to expect an audiophile vinyl pressing.  This record is "Like New," but even when it was brand new, it didn't look or sound perfect.  I've had 4-5 copies of this record, two that I bought as "new" and two "Near Mint" copies, all from different sources...they all had a fairly heavy amount of crackle for new vinyl (which is why I kept buying more - to find "The Perfect Copy").  I recorded the two best copies and compared them;  the crackles/pops appeared in the same spots, which wouldn't happen from wear/use.  That leads me to believe there was some kind of issue with the pressing.  At first, I thought maybe because the first side of the LP is packed with 26 minutes of music…but the B-side is only 13 minutes and has just as much crackle.  If I had to guess, I would say this is due to cheap vinyl (recycled "non-virgin" vinyl is usually cheaper, and you know a punk label is gonna go cheap) and/or a lack of quality control at the pressing plant.  Unfortunately, there is no other pressing available of this record, and when I asked Joe King about re-releasing it (circa 2013, I think), he laughed at the idea of re-issuing this otherwise great record.  So, this is about the best you're going to get.

GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS:

M (mint) Record is new, shiny, never played.

NM (near mint) Record is like new, probably played a few times, but it doesn't effect the quality of a sound.

EX (excellent) Record in great shape, may have light marks, played more than a few times but low in surface noise or no surface noise.

VG+ (very good plus) Record has been played more times, it has more marks and surface noise, it doesn't skip.

VG (very good) Record has been played many times, may be more surface noise, but it shouldn't skip while playing.

G (good) Record is in bad condition, this is worth only for archive items - just to have that until you find a better copy
