Description
Hello and welcome. Up for auction is a well used copy of Shirley and Dolly Collins 1969 album "Anthems in Eden" released on Harvest Records. Catalogue number is SHVL 754. This is a stereo pressing. This is also the original Harvest pressing from the United Kingdom. We have to note right away that this LP is not in the best condition but since it is a collectible album, we are going to auction it off anyhow at a low starting price. Let us discuss the condition of the item: record is in fair condition. It appears that this LP has taken many rides on the turntable and appears like it was thrown around a little bit too much. That being said, it is playable though there is some surface noise upon playback. We do not consider the record to be shot, its "condition." This is how we acquired the record. There are several scuff marks on the playback surface on both sides. There does appear to be any heavy marks or scratches that you could feel, and there are no problems with playback. No skips. Honestly, it looks worse than it plays. The label is a little messy with many spindle marks on both sides. There is no writing on the label. We can say that this record has seen better days. We played this with a Sumiko Pearl cartridge and routed the audio through an Adcom two-channel amplifier. It does sound pretty good for the most part. It does not sound like a "frying pan." Well, so much for that. Now on to the cover. As with the record, the cover is in fair condition. Since it is a European cover, it is subjected to more wear than American covers. The cover is a gatefold. The cover is laminated with a Clarifoil-like plastic and it has its share of scuff marks but not not horrible. There are some corner dents that are moderate. There are some creases mostly along the spine. The spine is in decent shape and can still be read when upon a shelf. The front right-hand edge where the envelope opens up is a bit worn. There are small blue ball-point pen marks next to the song listings on the back. There is writing on the inside of the gatefold on the left-hand edge. It appears to be someone's names. There is more to say about the condition of this item but it is hard to put into words. We described this item the best we could. Go ahead and check out the photographs for a further visual description.
