rare original, US pressing – excellent latin jazz album (first LP for Juan Amalbert's Latin Jazz Quintet), recorded at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, July 8, 1960. Here it is latin-jazz taken way upstairs. Diaz' vibes provide the funk with Ramos' timbales (& cymbals) and Juan Amalbert's cooking congas pressimg for latin commitment. Shirley takes charge and things go into high gear.
