(UK TOPIC 12T170, 1967, ORIGINAL PRESS)
An eclectic English Folk album released in 1967 from Shirley Collins. Long considered a classic, this album established Collins as a unique and influential voice on the British Folk scene. Featuring her sister, Dolly (on organ) and harmony group, The Young Tradition, the music in places has a medieval, haunted feel as if the songs were recorded 100 years prior! Other tracks retain a traditional English folk feel.
A very interesting record, indeed!
