Description

'Second Contribution' is widely considered to be Shawn Phillips' masterpiece. There isn't a weak song on the entire album. Released in 1970 on A & M Records, it quickly became a huge hit for the enormously talented Texas musician. Of course, as with any great album there are many other people who are responsable for its success. In this case it's Paul Buckmaster, who was in charge of the Orchestral Arrangements for the album...a stunning achievement. The copy I'm offering is the incredibly rare 1st Japanese pressing (AML-94) released in 1971 and manufactured by King Records. It is BY FAR the best sounding version of this album I've ever heard. This particular pressing rarely comes up for sale so grab it while you can.

 

Condition of Lp Jacket: Near Mint(minus) ...the only real flaw is a bit of a moisture stain within the inner gatefold (see photo). Some minor wear the corners and edges.....The Obi is in Excellent condition as is the attached 10-page booklet. Overall, a superb example of this nearly impossible to find Japanese copy.

Condition of Record: Near Mint....aside from the VERY occasional static "tick", this record is nearly flawless...You will NOT find a better pressing of this Lp anywhere.
