Condition

All covers, labels and inners have no rips, loosening of glue, handwriting in ink or biro pen.

All records listed are in no less than EX condition (see above for actual grading). In some cases I may list a very rare record at a lesser grading but this will be described in detail. All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system (outlined at end of listing)

Brief description of item

Superb album, by Shades Of MacMurrough & a POLYDOR release from 1973 of their album titled "Carrig River". The artists are Shades Of MacMurrough & not to be confused with Carrig River.  

A beautiful example with a clean glossy cover, minimal signs of crease here or there. No splitting or ripping, tearing of cover or spine. Spine is fully intact & loaded, all text if fully legible. Has the original price tag of just £1.75p on the front right, can be removed easily if so desired, I chose to leave it (adds character) see photos.

These don't turn up at all...And are VERY rare. In this condition its an all round EXCELLENT grade. Plays as EX- because of some minimal parts of surface noise. BUT....This is a very critical grade from me. Some of the songs are performed here without music & thus, it would be hard to not here the usual static vinyl in play. There are no skips or jumps & the surface is pretty clean. Some superficial hairlines can be seen, from cover removal & perhaps the odd part of needle trace! I can see a thin line on side two...Although I must stress that this has ZERO impact on the actual enjoyment of this rare LP. Test played & you will not be left disappointed.  

Labels are orange/red POLYDOR, and the matrix number are first press originals form 1973 of 2908 007 A//1 & B//1 followed by master stamper & 420 1 1. indicating the original & no less...Not a reproduction. Labels are in EX- shape, all text is legible & only some signs of slight fade of print around the bottom, the original labels were double pressed, meaning they had two sets (one on top of the other) these have been removed from the pressing plant, with no ripping or tearing of the actual text. Only tiny amount of any spindle wear around the centre under bright light or at an angle. Checked under harsh halogen bulb also, no heavy signs of use. Practically played a couple of times in its life throughout the decades & a great playing survivor of this by gone era. Record will be packed in a tough custom box DEFENDAPACK mailer as shown in the photos below. The mailer has a locking tab. The record will be placed outside its cover and inside a brand new polythene protector between two card stiffeners and sealed at the top with fragile marked masking tape. Items are labelled "handle with care".

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
