Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring the NBC Symphony Orchestra, Arturo Toscanini, cond.

  Several unique things about this item:  Firstly, these three discs retain the original shine with no visible imperfections grading by sight in normal room light.    I'm sure if you took these and put them under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes them less than mint.  If you're that kind of collector, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim these records are mint.  Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average better than VG+(excellent) with some scattered very light surface noise.  If you want an audio grade of an entire record, no problem, just drop me a note well in advance of the end of auction.  You can then assign your own grade based on my comments on what I heard and the GRADING SCALE BELOW!.  I did take the time to briefly test each track on sides 1 and 6 and noted a very light surface noise at the beginning of side 6.  This was with the volume turned up MUCH HIGHER than normal.    

Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s). 

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: NBC Symphony Orchestra, Arturo Toscanini, cond. Title: Four Brahms Symphonies Record: Black vinyl with original shine and no visible imperfections grading by sight in normal room light. Labels: Maroon with silver print.   No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, a few spindle marks, some center hole crinkling on side 2.   Trailing wax: Side 1: "E3RP-5182-1S".  Side 2: "E3RP-5187-4S".   Inner sleeve(s): Three clear, plastic sleeves with a rounded edge on one corner, in fine shape.  Cover: Textured leather cover.  A small sticker front lower left corner + a 1"x3" sticker back lower right corner.  I have successfully removed these stickers from other records out of this same collection without scuffing, I'm leaving that up to the new owner.  No pen/pencil marks.  No seam splits.  Some seam wear, mostly concentrated front lower left edge.  Corners slightly/moderately worn.  Slight general wear.  Inside this cover there are three separate brown sleeves for the records.  Those sleeves are in fine shape.  There is also a multi-page book attached to the spine that is in fine shape aside from name/addresses of previous owner written on front top edge of first page.  Rate the cover VG to VG+(excellent).  You can assign your own grade based on my comments. Comments: Based on past experience, short tests, and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average better than VG+(excellent) with some scattered very light surface noise.  If you want an audio grade (please request well in advance of the end of auction), you can then assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below. Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I can ship in a  14 x 14 x 6" box. Weight with box is about 5 pound 1 oz. Shipping is $5.05 Media Rate (5-6 pounds) + $1.70 box/tape/packing = $6.75.
