Rarity: Very Rare especially so being in this Whole & Complete condition. With it's Original Box and Inner. It Also has It's Original Packing Slip. Back in the 60's Vinyl was the Main source of listening to music. Tapes were of course available but Only sold in Very small quantities compared to Vinyl. So you Will see this Album come up Very often while searching to add to your collection. However I Can assure you, you will NOT see many copies available in Twin Track Tapes.

Brief Artist & Album/Single Info: "SGT PEPPER'S" is the eighth studio album by The Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967 in the United Kingdom and 2 June 1967 in the United States, it was an immediate commercial and critical success, spending 27 weeks at the top of the UK albums chart and 15 weeks at number one in the US. On release, the album was lauded by the vast majority of critics for its innovations in music production, songwriting and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for providing a musical representation of its generation and the contemporary counterculture. It won four Grammy Awards in 1968, including Album of the Year, the first rock LP to receive this honour.

In August 1966, the Beatles permanently retired from touring and began a three-month holiday from recording. During a return flight to London in November, Paul McCartney had an idea for a song involving an Edwardian era military band that would eventually form the impetus of the Sgt. Pepper concept. Sessions for the album began on 24 November in Abbey Road Studio Two with two compositions inspired by their youth, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", but after pressure from EMI, the songs were released as a double A-side single and were not included on the album.

In February 1967, after recording the title track "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", McCartney suggested that the Beatles should release an entire album that would represent a performance by the fictional Sgt. Pepper band. This alter ego group would give them the freedom to experiment musically. During the recording sessions, the band furthered the technological progression they had made with their 1966 album Revolver. Knowing they would not have to perform the tracks live, they adopted an experimental approach to composition and recording on songs such as "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "A Day in the Life". Producer George Martin and engineer Geoff Emerick's helped realise the group's musical ideas by approaching the studio as an instrument, applying orchestral overdubs, sound effects and other methods of tape manipulation. Recording was completed on 21 April 1967. The cover, depicting the Beatles posing in front of a tableau of celebrities and historical figures, was designed by the British pop artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth.

CONDITION

Unfortunately I do NOT possess a recording machine of this caliber to confirm wether the Tape actually plays.So this is being listed Purely as a "Collectors Item". I see No reason why it should not play as the tape has the leading edge with Parlophone TA-PMC-1267, Speed 33/4 I.P.S. "Rubber Soul" & Recording First Published 1965. 

The Spool is not Split, Chipped or Broken anywhere. The Tape sits tightly within the Spool. It has stamped to both sides "Made In Great Britain EMITAPE Recording Tape"

I can ONLY grade this as GOOD because I CANNOT verify that is plays.

COVER: This Tape came packaged within a Cardboard Box measuring 13cm x 13cm x 1&1/2cm. The Front format is Exactly the same as the Sgt. Pepper's album cover that was designed by the pop artists Peter Blake and Jann Haworth from an ink drawing by McCartney. It was art-directed by Robert Fraser and photographed by Michael Cooper. The front of the LP included a colourful collage featuring the Beatles in costume as the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, standing with a group of life-sized cardboard cut-outs of famous people. The Box has no Splits, Rips or Tears anywhere. The front of the  Box Does show some signs of age (But nothing too drastic). All of the Printing is readable and the Photograph is Clear. The Reverse again does show slight signs of age and all Printing is readable. On The Inside of the Lid a Previous owner has written their name and address in Pen. This Box is incredibly difficult to find in Ex+ condition simply because of it's design and age. However I would be happy enough to grade it as Good+!!!! 

COVER SUMMARY: Not seen often, this one is in reasonable condition with only a few clues of age and blemishes. This classic Box should (as described) please many collectors.

Grading: In my opinion I REFUSE to believe that there is ANY record that can be truly graded as Mint; the BEST that could be offered is Mint- (minus)!!!! Especially so from the 50's, 60's, 70's or even up to the present date!!!! Even copies bought new today would have some form of imperfection on the Record or Cover!!!! Under that assumption I will NEVER use the word Mint in any of my descriptions and Mint- is the HIGHEST grade I would ever offer. So I will only offer from Excellent, Good or Poor with a -(minus), +(plus) or ++(plus, plus)!!!!
