Description
*I am currently selling a collection of Heavy Metal and rock LPs, predominantly from the late 70’s to the early 90’s but with the odd outlier thrown in. All well looked after and some real rarities. I combine shipping and always remove the vinyl from the sleeve before packing and posting. Where anything other than a generic white inner is present, the vinyl is always placed in a brand new white inner to preserve the original. Brand new ‘clear glass’ plastic sleeves are added to all LPs. I describe items accurately as I know how disappointing it is to receive a much anticipated record where flaws have been glossed over or gone unmentioned. I try to listen to each record before describing it but if I don’t have time I will listen to selected parts to gauge the level of background noise and I will always listen to any passages where there are surface marks to judge the impact these have. I always give positive feedback after payment so the customer is able to give feedback purely judged on the service once they have received the item. This listing includes a copy of both the original master and the remastered version of this album. Remastered version comes with the rare merchandise sheet.
Info on original:
Stunning original master of the classic third album. Always a bit of a minefield tracking down a true first pressing of Beneath the Remains as the album was remastered in the year of release and reissued with a lyric inner (The lyric inner for the remastered copies states ‘remastered November 1989 by Tom Coyne at The Hit Factory NYC RO 9511 1’ in the bottom right corner.)
This is the original, not the remaster - the attributes to look out for are:
Plain white paper inner
A very narrow runout on side B
Etched rather than stamped data in the runout
Matt effect, slightly paler paper labels with smaller Roadracer logo.
I have had the pleasure of listening to both the original and the remaster and the remastered version does have a fuller sound with more bass in evidence.
The outer sleeve on both are identical.
The copy on offer here is the original pressing, mastered by Mike Fuller at Fullersound, Miami rather than the version remastered by Tom Coyne at the Hit Factory in NYC.
Both are in excellent+ condition throughout - fantastic examples Have been extremely well looked after and look barely played - there are no spindle marks and the playing surface is shiny and unmarked. It plays really well with very little background interference.
