This is the 1978 Barry Manilow 2 Picture Disc set which is becoming hard to find as sealed. I have listed the release year as 1978 (that is the year of release of the conventional album) but there is no definite confirmation of this on the packaging. It may confirm this on the actual Picture Discs but some of the print is obscured by packaging. Picture Discs were the rage in 1978 so I’m confident this date is highly likely. If not, it is likely 1979.

My Notes/Comments: While the above disclaimer on this package is a legal term which basically means the item is considered “as is” I suspect the intent was related to sound quality. Picture Discs virtually never have sound quality equal to a conventional album, mainly because of the manufacturing process used to produce them. They were typically made for display purposes. Why Arista’s legal department did not simply state this information on the packaging is unknown. A very direct sound quality disclaimer was extremely typical on Picture Discs and that was done to inform buyers that it was highly likely the Picture Disc version would yield inferior sound quality as opposed to a conventional record. Like all Picture Discs, this release can be played but do not expect the sound quality to equal that of the conventional release.

This item will be carefully wrapped (lots of packing materials for added protection) and shipped in an LP box especially designed for LPs.
