Description
Fans of Julian Cope will know that this album was compiled by him in response to the fact that the great solo albums that his hero, Scott Walker, released in the late 60's were out of print. He put together this compilation of the best tracks and the album was released in 1981 on the new Zoo label with the sub-title "The Godlike Genius of Scott Walker" - which shows what Julian thought of the music. . It apparently sold very few copies and was quickly deleted and as far as I am aware was never issued on CD and so is something of a rarity. I bought this new in 1981 because I shared Julian's love for the music but can sell it now that Scott's albums are readily available again.
The vinyl is in very good condition and has only ever been played on good quality hi-fi gear. The inner sleeve is also very good but the cover is only fair to good. It is intact but the material is a particularly fragile form of card that was never going to survive long in good condition. The sleeve is scuffed in the bottom right hand corner and there are sticker marks in the top right and top left corners. The pictures attempt to show these faults.
The song Boy Child is misspelled on the Side 2 label as Boychild . The runout groove is etched with the word "Damont" - presumably the identity of the individual who cut the master.
