JAZZ LP by FRIEDHELM SCHÖNFELD TRIO & HUBERT KATZENBEIER QUINTET. RARE ORIGINAL LP on AMIGA (STEREO 8 55 307) issued in the former GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC in 1972. SUPERB split release featuring two EXCELLENT EAST GERMANY JAZZ COMBOS: the TRIO of saxophonist SCHÖNFELD on side one and the QUINTET led by trombonist KATZENBEIER on side two. The whole LP is solid but the highlight to me is the BEAUTIFUL MODAL GROOVE of Katzenbeier’s “QUARTETT”, comped on CRIPPLED DICK HOT WAX’s out of print 2001 comp “BETWEEN OR BEYOND THE IRON CURTAIN”. Check the soundclip below (NOTE: I made the soundclip from the copy being auctioned). RARE LP.

Vinyl is in EX condition (few light hairlines that don´t affect play). Sleeve is in VG+ condition (general wear).
