Schoenberg Berg Webern LaSalle Violin String Quart. DGG

20th Century string quartets from the leading recognised trio of this genre.

Rather rare 1971 box set from DGG, (2720 029). German pressed 5 LP's, (3 Schonberg, 1 Berg, 1 Webern) so postage will be expensive, but as displayed in your search results , or  on the postage tab of listing, as well as world zone approximations typed into description , just scroll down (way down).

BOX CONDITION Looks great, but only graded Excellent due to back cover seam split on bottom edge (SEE PHoto) surprisingly the seam split seems to be only on the outside, when inspecting the inner, the box stilll seems undamaged (see photo's 4 & 6)

LP's  CONDITION  Visually and partial test play Near Mint Minus

I don't have the time to test play all 5 LP's for the perceived value of the set, but visually, other than a bit of dust on first inspection, these are NOW spotless, could be easily described as NM MINUS, odd classification, but there was something stuck on side 8, (Berg) like a smear of dried sticky tape residue, which with a wipe of methylated spirit came off, the few residual tics I encountered on test playing that area initially gave some light tics, but when replayed through, the  same tics a few times, the tic disappeared, if the winner finds any tics on side 8. I think the same repeat play procedure will work.  That is why the close up photo's are only of that disc so you can see how clean the dirtiest record of the set is now.

I did test the run in on all sides and found only irregular pips as per normal vinyl play.

These sound great, (ahhhh....... if that is possible with Schoenberg, et al....)For those unaware of the sound of The La Salle Quartet  playing these 20th century compositions, think two or even four cats fighting, you get the idea.... (I am a cello player, but I really do prefer my classical classics.......)

BOOKLET CONDITION

12 page black and white has some light creases, but no tears or stains.  Suspected creases from hanging over edge of box while closing the box....... wonder how I know that........

 TRACK LISTING

Schonberg 5 string quartets

Berg 2 string quartets

Webern 4 string quartets

See photo's of insert booklet for full listing

FREE or cheap extra postage offer

Australian buyers can talk to me about adding extra records to this package as postage quoted locally covers upto 2KG, this box of 5 LP's currently only 1.5KG Check out my seperate auctions of 20th century composers, and think FREE postage for a couple of records if you win this one first!!!!!

Overseas buyers who win this will get VERY cheap postage on further wins as once packages exceed 1kg the incremental addition per 250gm (roughly per LP) is VERY ECONOMICAL.

Overseas buyers can purchase this and also will get options to add Buy it Now listings to bulk up the pack, Alternatively, other individual records auctioned at Missionsellit added to this bulk buy will dramatically reduce postage total of both wins. Please Consider.......

LP'S ARE ALMOST!! like new, there is some paper scuffing from being withdrawn from their dust covers perhaps only once or twice prior to my test playing.  These records were so clean, I have only dusted them off with a soft cloth, (3 lp's had no dust I suspect unplayed, never taken from dust jacket) and test played a few sections,  records have VERY few static crackles on opening sections all sides, the rest look clean and opening few minutes of the other  LP's opening few minutes, all test play clean, the rest of each LP is assumed clean playing as no visual damage in strong sunlight and general NEW look to the vinyl.

NO ROTATIONAL SPINDLE MARKS ON LABELS

Check out my other items!

LP's Condition (see Photo's) Summary - IN SHORT Excellent, As close to Near Mint as I am prepared to call something.  Opening few mins all sides, test played CLEAN, had no damage related noises, and only the very occasional soft pop from normal Vinyl reproduction.  Absolutely stunning (whether you like it or not!!) string music which will give the new owner many hours of listening pleasure..... (??)

I suspect these may have only been played once or twice.

Only a few odd  pops and clicks, as usual associated with vinyl recordings, but they would be more described as odd pops and clicks without repetitive patterns associated with scratch style damage.

There is no sign of rotational spindle wear.  Labels are in excellent order.

Records are very glossy with that "new" look to them .

COVER(s) condition (See Photo's) IN SHORT, EXCELLENT PLUS,   except for previously mentioned tear in rear bottom seam.

Dust Jackets original  sleeves no tears or seam splits, light creases, in very good condition.
