Description
For sale is Savoy Brown's Street Corner Talking, originally released in 1971 by Parrot Records, a product of London Records, in a gate-fold presentation. In the dead wax between the label and the last track is stamped "Bell Sound" followed by "sf" and "7-29-71", indicating that this first edition was mastered by Sam Feldman at Bell Sound Studios, N.Y.C. on 7-219-71. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put this album into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with this release. The inner sleeve is Excellent with some wrinkles. The cover is graded as VG because of corner blunts, edge wear, some foxing and a 2" seam split on the top right hand corner of the jacket. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of faint sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading it as VG because of occasional surface noise, most evident during the quiet passages. This is still one of the best copies of this hard to find album that I have ever heard or seen and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, being that it is a Bell Sound production. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
