Description
VG++ to NM 1983 album by Savoir-Flair on the Soultex label out of Dallas, Texas. This trio, consisting of Roger Boykin, John Miller, and Cassandra Wright. They're kind of like a lower-budget version of Yarborough & Peoples -- some likeness in vocals, lyrics, and melodies, but done funkier and with a fuller, grittier sound. This scarce LP consists of mostly uptempo "homemade" funk jams, but also contains a nice ballad and a jazzy instrumental selection. Not a weak track to be found! The tracks are: Come On/You Can Touch the Sky/Happy Hour/Super Funk/Keep Holding On/The Family Jewels/Here I Come/Savoir-Funk/You're the Best. Mostly female vocals, but male leads on a couple of tracks. The cover is mint -- still in shrink, and includes the original inner sleeve with lyrics, credits, and an additional photo of the group. Vinyl plays Near Mint, but has some light scratches, which is why I graded it VG++ to NM.
