Saturnalia - Magical Love LP 1971. First "3D" Picture Disc with Booklet. First pressing (see below)
You may see this album erroneously listed as having been first released in 1969 or 1971. It was first released in 1973. I bought it in 1973. Adrian Hawkins of Saturnalia is on record as saying "We recorded ... SATURNALIA LP Sept/Oct 1972, released 9th Feb 1973".
It was my habit to buy albums and play them once to tape them, then put them away. I don't think this has been played since then. As I said in another picture disc listing, "Picture disc technology was in its infancy and this resulted in a level of surface noise" although it was by no means unplayable, and a thing of beauty.
I have photographed this as best I can (not easy as the "3D" centres confused my phone camera) and I've tried to give some idea of how the centres look as the record rotates. Please study the photos to satisfy yourself that my description is honest, but if you have any questions, please feel free to message me (no offers please).
The booklet is also close to perfect, no fading, no rips.
I will package this in purpose-bought packaging with an extra corrugated cardboard stiffener, and send it Royal Mail tracked 48 with signature and up to £100 loss/damage cover. If bids go over £100, I will send it Royal Mail Special delivery to ensure that there is adequate loss or damage cover. (Ebay wouldn't let me choose either of these, so please ignore their postage description).
