Description
Regarded by many as one of the greatest DJ mixes of all time, Sasha’s triumphant return to GU could not have been more iconic. The selected location of Ibiza demanded that the mix capture the spirit of the party island, which it manages to do in spades, while doing so much more too.
The heavyweight track selection contains wall-to-wall classics of the progressive era, their inclusion on this mix only cementing their claim for anthem status. Sasha was already almost unfeasibly popular as a DJ and increasingly and a producer too, but this particular display of silky mixing and emotional track selection, including his own epic ‘Xpander’, served to perpetuate his often screamed-out-loud clubland status of ‘god’.
The somewhat overwhelming adoration for this mix and the DJ behind it saw a whole new level of passionate obsessing over Sasha and the music spread via the early GU forums and continuing today.
