Description
Sarasate Carmen Fantaisie Ruggiero Ricci UK Decca SXL 2197 WBG ED1
Ruggiero Ricci with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pierino Gamba performs the Bizet-Sarasate “Carman Fantaisie”, Sarasate’s “Zingeunerweisen”, and Saint-Saens “Havanaise” and “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso”. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2197 stampers 1E/1E), the labels have Made in England by… at 10 o’clock, a full frequency stereophonic sound fatband and ffss logo, and a groove. The record is of slightly worn appearance with some scuffing, and it plays and sounds superb (spectacular recording) with occasional low-level surface noise. The cover laminate has lifted giving it a greyish appearance and there is a ring and some small creases. The back has some foxing.
