Description
This is the Sarah Vaughn s/t DEBUT LP 1954 EMARCY RECORDS MG-36004, 1st pressing deep groove/mono, her 1st LP with musicians Clifford Brown, Herbie Mann, Jimmy Jones, more. This came from a private Jazz collection that I just purchased at local estate. Visually, the vinyl does have some scratches on it that I can feel, however when I played the record, I was surprised that it actually sounded fine on my newer Crosley record player. I noticed some light surface noise and perhaps a few ticks in spots, but nothing really noticeable and it played through fine. I guess that would be attributed to the higher quality deep groove vinyl from back in the day. Of course, if you have a higher end player, it could be more noticeable in spots, but I can say on my Crosley, I was happy with the sound quality.
The cover has some discoloration/yelllowing due to age, split bottom right corner and little bit upper right. Back cover some light staining, price written pencil upper left. It is a low to mid grade copy, but still a decent filler. I would be happy to keep it in my collection if it does not sell as it is a classic and top copies of this have sold for well over 3 figures!!
