Description

SANTANA: LOTUS (3 LP set) Made in Holland Columbia/Sony 66325
Recorded Live in Japan [various concerts]
My copy is still impeccable, I knew how collectible and rare it was so I recorded it on tape the first time I played it, then  I bought the CD set as soon as it came out. I never pulled out the posters, only to check them out the first time.
This incredible packaging won many awards and is simply the BEST album design of all time. The music is Santana's jazz period, with long, evolving songs with many musicians on each cut, very reminiscent of his idol John Coltrane. The design reflects Carlos' interest in Asian religions like Buddhism and Hinduism, and since Buddhists accept all religions as valid, there's also artwork of Jesus.
