Sammy Hagar vs David Lee Roth ~ Van Halen Anthology

Japan PROMO ONLY 2LP

Warner PS – 290 - 1

Appendices: "G/F Cover"

( OBI & INSERT are not included )

Description: This is scarce Japan PROMO ONLY double album ( released in 1980’s ) of Van Helen. As the title shows, this double album features two vocalists “Sammy Hagar” on Disc1, and “David Lee Roth” on Disc2. Each disc shows colorful pictures of each singer on its label ( See photo ). The gate-fold cover shows "colorful photos of their live stage with both singers". It includes following 23 tracks. OBI & INSERT seem not to have been issued for this album, because of promotional use only. It’s very hard to find this item in any condition even in my country nowadays. Scarce item from Japan to serious collector.

Sammy Hagar:

Side A: Dreams ( single version ), Only one way to rock, Why can’t this be love ( extended mix ), Donut city ( instrumental )

Side B: Good enough, Best of both worlds, I can’t drive 55, Love walks in, Top of the rock

David Lee Roth:

Side C: Eruption ( instrumental ), You really got me, Panama, Unchained, Dance the night away, California girls, Hot for teacher

Side D: Intruder ( instrumental ), Pretty woman, And the cradle will rock, Just a gigolo, Ain’t talkin’ about love, 1984 ( instrumental ), Jump, Happy trails

Condition: G+/EX/VG+ ( Cover / Disc 1/2 )

COVER: Cover is stained with spots around rims inside gate-fold. There’s partial ring-wear in upper portions of inside & back. It’s partly worn on the corners & outer-edges, while being slightly scraped on the surface of front & back. Otherwise it has no tear, dent, strip & writing...OK.

DISC 1: Disc 1 is excellent in condition, keeping glossy. There’re slight marks on the surface of Side A, which seem to be “misprint”. Of course, it does not affect its sound. Otherwise it has none of any scuff, scratch, hairline & spindle-mark on each label, which is to be rated as “EX”. No flaw on the groove of Side B and both labels.

DISC 2: Disc 2 is good in condition, keeping glossy. There’re slight marks on the surface of Side B, which seem to be “misprint”. A conspicuous scratch ( hairline ) is on Side A-3~7, which clicks slightly between tracks. Otherwise it has none of any scuff & spindle-mark on each label, which is to be rated as “VG+”. No flaw on the groove of Side B.

OBI / INSERT: OBI & INSERT are not included in this item. It seems that they were not originally issued for this album, because of promotional use only.
