I Never Said Goodbye was the ninth solo album by Sammy Hagar and his only solo album released while he was a member of Van Halen. The album was produced by Sammy and Eddie Van Halen. The album was recorded in just ten days as a contractual obligation to Geffen Records as a condition of his leaving the label to join Van Halen and Warner Brothers Records. The album was originally titled Sammy Hagar and included an untitled cover. I Never Said Goodbye was a name chosen as part of an MTV promotional contest. No where does it state promotional copy however it does have a small slit on the top left side sometimes denoting promo, this is a sealed rare copy since the title I Never Said Goodbye was left off of this cover.
