Description

Sam Cooke passed away in December 1964 - this title from earlier in the years was his last official album release release. Matrix 5S/5S = 1st cut. Stampers 1C/1C - one of the 1st copies ever to hit the market. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover. We also have the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, one superficial radial mark - fully tested and nothing remotely to worry about. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely quiet and the audio across with perfect clarity. Hard to find fault - this is a highly impressive rendition. A couple of light ticks as 'Saturday Night' close out. Excellent clarity right into the quietest moments. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Really nice and smart front with just a couple of tiny creases. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process - just light evidence. Little edge wear and nice sharp firm openings. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Aged. Bag present. No splits.
