Brief description of item

This is 'Salamander' & The Ten Commandments. Please note : This is not a repressing, it is the ORIGINAL release from 1971. Releases like this one are considered holy grail today, even then when it was released in the year 1971, it was unheard of & sold hardly any units. As a result was quickly pulled by the label & never released again. The bands one and only recording. Sounding some people  say similar to "deep purple" or "moody blues". I find this to have more in common with "locomotive - we are everything you see"

The actual record has no warping & sits 100% flat. There are no signs of damage I.E. scratched marks, ingrained dust, needle thrash, nail scuffs. It plays and looks as good as your going to ever get today. 41 years later - for it to even exist today is a small miracle! pardon the pun, 'The Ten Commandments' is a great listen, hard driven Hammond organ & lush string parts. As I say very similar to the infamous locomotive L.P. I played this again & its sounding fantastic. Maybe the odd minimal isolated dust particle to cause a couple of light ticks, but no jumps, heavy pops, skip backs, distortion or anything negative. I recorded the whole L.P. On both sides & listened back again. Very nice - excellent at least.

The labels are under bright light showing some spindle wear, but have no handwritten names in ink or biro pen..no ripping or fade. perfectly legible. the original 'Young Blood'  RED & WHITE. Labels have run off matrix SSYB 14 A-1//B-1 a first pressing. So RARE to see one of these or even be offered the chance to own one.

The cover is as flimsy affair only very good, while there are no rips or tearing the tri fold out cover has the tab intact & the artwork is still pretty bold, with no names, or fading. Only the corners have some general age/wear. This has to be expected for the type of cheap card used at the time. I may be making this sound worse than it is? but its still perfectly acceptable taken the age in to consideration, I have stored the record outside of the sleeve inside a brand new plain white inner.

Please see the close up view of all below, I sell a lot of rare & a lot of great quality records. Mailed in custom box mailers, you can see these type used below in 'Payment & Shipping' all that's left to say....Is don't miss this, another won't turn up for ages....If ever again! Thanks for viewing & taking interest in this item, any questions I have not filled out answers for here, I will try & answer if you just ask. Note : the price of this record as mint is £400 in the book. I have placed this price (very fair) for what's on offer only down to the cover not being in the same condition as the vinyl is. if this fails to sell! I'm keeping it. It will not be re-listed again. So please snap it up while you still can, a sound investment today which will only go up in value like gold. Cheers again.

All vinyl comes from a smoke, damp and pet free environment

>>  Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
