Description
This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 180g pressing of Charles Munch’s recording of Saint-Saens’ “Symphony No. 3 in C minor” on four single-sided 45 RPM records with organist Berj Zamkochlan and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The 45 RPM set is a complete recording LSC-2341. When I first bought this new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag. There are no scuffs or scratches on the records. Side 1 has some low-level surface noise during the first few minutes and some occasional light ticks after that but mostly plays quietly. Side 2 has some occasional light ticks throughout the side but is mostly quiet. Side 3 has some occasional low-level surface noise with one spot where there are 4 light ticks in a row but is otherwise quiet. Side 4 plays mostly very quietly with only 3 light ticks noticed. I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The sound is naturally open and detailed. The covers for the first record is the original glossy jacket that Classic used for their original 180g 33 RPM issue. The remaining 3 records have a plain white jacket with a sticker. All jackets are the ones originally issued by Classic Records. There no seam splits, bends or tears but there is some compression on one corner of each of the jackets. Only side A of each LP is pressed. Side B is blank. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
