Description
(12" LP) ODÉON XOC 112 (end of 1950's, mono)
Henryk SZERYNG, violin,
Orchestre des Concerts Pasdeloup, Gabriel BOUILLON conducting
J.-S. BACH
1st & 2nd concertos for violin and orchestra
SZERYNG HAS WRITTEN ON BACK A FRIENDLY SIGNED DEDICACE TO THE POLISH COMPOSER MICHAÏL SPISAK,
dated december 1959.
As far as we know this 1952 recording was at first published as a LP in 1954 under the reference ODX 114 (masters XAR 110/111) with silver/red labels (probably at first with the typographic green & brown "ODEON" cover, then under the red cover with a portrait).
The present XOC 112 is the 2nd pressing (1958 or 59), with the same 110/111 references, but yellow labels.
SLEEVE CONDITION : VG+ (light ring shape, no ring wear, glossy, only light local fading of gloss visible by level light, few usual wear spots on spines, rare handling signs and other tiny defects )
RECORD CONDITION : VG (some cosmetic scuffs, tiny superficial marks from dust, some blemishing "inside wax" not sounding traces from vinyl quality - but still glossy as can be an old mono surface /// playgraded in stereo: plays mostly VG+/EX, occasional ticks, locally light crackling audible mostly on one adagio but not disturbing, very rare average single cracks ; excellent mono sound on mostly quiet wax)
( Please see our grading table on our ABOUT ME page )
